The Forksville General Store &
Restaurant is a family owned and
operated establishment . Owners
Mike & MaryAnn moved their family
from the hustle and bustle of the city,
to the quiet country in the
mountains, when they seized the
opportunity to buy a 150 year old
General Store & Restaurant.
Originally from South Philadelphia,
Mike always dreamed of living in the
beautiful Endless Mountains of
Northeastern Pennsylvania and his
wife was no stranger to the
restaurant business with her success
as a business manager in quite a few
South Jersey establishments. When
the opportunity arose to purchase his
own business in a place he loved, he
and MaryAnn decided to give it a
shot and let the dice fall where they
may.
Eleven successful years later, the
family turned a dream into a reality
with a lot of hard work and support
from friends and customers who,
with their patronage, are helping to
keep this "mom & pop" tradition alive!

restaurant, nestled inside of this historic
building , was expanded and the
breakfast and lunch menus have been
updated featuring mouth watering
options such as: super stuffed omelets,
golden buttermilk hotcakes, triple stack
french toast, and Big Mike's South Philly
specialties including: delicious foot long
cheesesteaks, hoagies, 1/2 lb. gourmet
burgers freshly ground on premises,
Italian style pizza pies, and so much
more! There is also a full Deli located
inside where you can be sure to find the
finest meats & cheeses around.
The building itself dates back to the
mid 1800's and stands adjacent to one of
the most well preserved covered bridges
in Pennsylvania. Adding to the charming
atmosphere, the restaurant sets itself
apart from others in the area by being
fully air-conditioned during those hot
summer days, or fireplace heated during
those blustery winter months when you
long to dine in comfort. If you would
rather soak up the sun, there are picnic
tables in the backyard set along side of
the Loyalsock Creek where you can
purchase a take-out meal and dine in the
shadows of the covered bridge.
